      Description

The above star field is a dusty section of Aries near the Perseus / Taurus border. LDN 1455 / B204 is the large dark nebula in this image from which dusty arms radiate. With brown arms around a black body, this image looks like the large tarantulas that come out in the evening after a Tucson monsoon rainstorm. Two other dark knots of dust are given designations: LDN 1541 / B202 is located in the upper left and LDN 1448 / B203 in the lower right. The field also features two reflection nebula: VdB16 in the upper right and VdB13 in the lower left.

This image completes a trio of images that I have been working on for my home office which includes NGC 1333 and LDN 1355. All of these images are dusty fields rich in yellows and browns which should go well together.
